The Burtons: December 2010

As you've already probably noticed, I did a MAJOR blog update today. I really wanted to update pictures from our last post, which was over a year ago!! YIKES! Please don't feel obligated to go through all of these. I think I may order a book of our blog (for an easy little scrap book), so I wanted to make sure the past year was represented, when and if I do! :)

1st Snow and Thanksgiving!

Gray, Allie, and Mommy made a gingerbread house. Grayson was a very good decorator. He was in charge of putting the candy on the house. Allie was just happy to hang out!

Hangin' out with Cousin Wyatt during the Thanksgiving Holiday! We had a very special Thanksgiving this year. We spend the day with the Burton side and had a nice dinner at Aunt Becky's house. Momma got some excellent deals on Black Friday. Then we spent the rest of the weekend with the Cannon side, where we built an awesome snowman! Please look for your Christmas card from us for pics of "Frosty"!

Unc's (Uncle Kevin) first basketball game of his Senior year, although he was hurt and didn't get to play. We saw my good friend Sara, who I grew up with, and her little boy Owen.

Samples Visit

Our best friends, the Samples, came for a visit late this summer. We had a great time catching up and seeing all the kids together! Little Emma is the smiliest girl in the world! Grayson and Abbey were a little nervous seeing each other at first, but then played excellent together! We sure do miss seeing the Samples more often, but it sure is great catching up with them when we do see each other!

Uncle Josh's Tourney - 2010

This year marked the 2nd Annual Josh Burton Memorial Tourney. Grayson was able to throw the 1st pitch of the again this year. He threw to Uncle Josh's best friend Tyson and Daddy helped. He did a great job!

Hoopfest 2010

Allie's first hoopfest. She handled the heat and mass of people fairly well. Hope she gets used to it, because there are many more to come! This was the 1st year in a long time that I opted out of playing. Unfortunately my post-baby-body was not up for the feat. Daddy, Papa Byron, Uncle Keith, and Cousin Wayne played together this year. Their team was "Lester's Kids". We had a great time watching them and cheering them on!

"Lester" is Papa Byron's middle name. Each shirt had something on the back, like Allie's below. Grayson's said "Grandkid", Keith's said "Kid", Daddy's said "Kid-in-Law", Cousin Wayne's said "Cousin Kid" and Papa's said "Lester"

Summer 2010

Brian turned the big 3-0 on May 20th. Since Allie was still in the hospital during that time, we were unable to give him a big bash. He did get the next best thing. Each of us (Grayson, Allie, and Momma) gave him a bottle of Pendleton and he got another from Uncle Keith. Grayson gave him the 2nd to smallest and Allie gave him the "mini"...just like our sizes! :)
